Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems swept through the state, generating strong winds topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Impact
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered energy failures after Melbourne saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled 598 emergency reports across the area, mainly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across various areas of both states.

Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
